Thought for the Day

This was on my calendar and I thought it was worth sharing: God always gives the best to those who leave the choice with Him.

This is a hard one for me. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

I Fed My Children Popcorn for Breakfast

That is o.k., right? Harkins Movies has a summer movie program. They show a kid movie 1x a day at 9:45 every week day morning. We need to leave at 9a.m. We are not, I repeat not, morning people. So that leads us to the logical conclusion: Popcorn for breakfast.

Last Days of Kindergarten

Jake has successfully completed kindergarten. It is bitter sweet for me. I was fortunate to have him in a half day kindergarten, so he was still home most of the day. With the start of 1st grade, I realize he will be gone for most of the day. I'm really going to miss him. Of course, I thank God every day that he is growing and healthy. I realize it is a blessing that he is developing and moving on. If he weren't, there would be a problem and I would never wish for that. Here are some pictures of him with his teacher, Mrs. Wornick. The aid, Mrs. Ford. With his certificate he got at their little graduation ceremony. Kindergarten got off to a rocky start, but went so much better than I could have hoped for. It has given him a love a school and for that, I am truly grateful. It was some crazy weather on the last day. At the beginning of the week we were at 100 degrees. (Not uncommon for us.) But that Thursday night a storm blew in. (VERY uncommon for us.) Friday the high was in the low 60's. We all had to wear long sleeves and I had to dig out jackets. Crazy. Friday morning, the teacher had set up a breakfast before the graduation ceremony. Then they had their last chapel of the year. What I failed to mention was that we had been out galavanting the night before. Thursday happened to be high school graduation, and since Kyle was out of town, the kids and I went and did the youth minister thing and partied like it was 1999. Kailey was worn to a frazzle, but kept in together pretty well...until we got home. The picture tells the story. This is how I found her in the den, on the floor, asleep...naked...go figure. I promise I was not out of the room that long.

Celebrity Sightings...

Our dear friend Karen gave Kailey a Dora Dance pad for her 3rd birthday. It's like Dance Dance revolution for the toddler set. It came complete with pad, maracas, and a Dora costume. You plug in the DVD and dance your heart out. She loves it, but insists on wearing the whole get up for the adventure. Jake, on the other hand, believes it is hilarious to wear the glasses and side burns that go with Kyle's Elvis costume. Who needs Hollywood?

Long Time, No Blog. Sorry

My mother-in law got on to me, and she told me it was time to update the site. I did not realize how long it had been since the last post. I'm sure you are all biting your nails to see what's been going on at the Wewe house. Well lots of things. I'll break them down to different post, but to start, summer is here, so that means swimming almost everyday. Here are the kids catchin' some rays.

Kailey Elizabeth

Wow, as I sit to write this post, I'm overcome with emotion. So much happiness and a little sadness at how fast time is passing. Kailey, you are such a firecracker. So much curiosity, energy and spirit. You fear nothing and can conquer everything. My life has been so blessed with your presence. You have stretched me to the limits, and taught me more about parenting than I ever could have imagined. Life is so much more fun because of you. You love deeply and are already passionate at your tender age. You are tender and tough. You stir my spirit with the praise songs you sing all day. I love the fact that you are so much like your dad. I also love the fact that you love to hear me say, "You rock, Kailey!". I pray this blessing for you and your life: May the Lord find favor in you. May you always hunger to know Him and have a heart that seeks Him. May you be blessed with health and happiness. I love you Kailey, and can't image life with out you.
